2.3 North West Parks and Tourism Board – The DGA will again be taken in consideration during the new budget cycle, which will start during October 2016. During the current cycle no association received any funding. It is not necessary to submit a new application because North West still has the previous application on file. The Chairman will send a copy of the application to the Secretary to be filed.
2.4 Cathsseta – According to Walter Meyer (Cathsseta) no grants was handed out during the previous cycle, to any of the adventure guides. The new format and documentation for the application was done online and submitted. DGA asked for a grant for 30 adventure guides confirmation of submission was received by the Secretary. It will be best to concentrate, and talk to local operators and not the guides when it comes to training. We should not underestimate the need for training in the various adventure categories.
2.5 Website – The Telephone and Fax numbers has been changed on the website. The Code of Conduct on the website must carry a watermark in case of misuse. A complaint/comment procedure must also be posted on the website.
2.6 Business Cards and Pamphlets – We must keep in mind that there will be a limited use. We should use it only to convey basic information regarding the DGA. A limited number will be printed mainly for office use. The sticker must read “Member of….Dome Guides Association” which can be use displayed in the window of a business.
There was some concern about what will happen in case a person use or print the DGA logo without the DGA consent. A list of qualified operators and guides with their qualifications and registration number on the website should prevent any non-member to use the DGA logo.
2.7 Financial Statements – None
2.9 Badges – A letter should be sent to Ms U. Pillay (Director Registrars) requesting an official reply regarding progress with the order on badges. It must also be mentioned that the only confirmation of the order being placed, was done telephonically by the Registrar of North West and the DGA need the confirmation in writing.
2.10 Grewer Ave – The Secretary will make an appointment to meet with representative of Ngwathe Tourism Association regarding Grewer Ave. They will be in a better position to help in speeding up the work in securing a better parking bay as agreed upon during a onsite meeting with various stakeholders. A letter must be sent to the Municipal Manager requesting a meeting regarding the work to be done in Grewer Ave.
2.10 Certificate for Display – An example of the certificate was downloaded from a website belonging to Graeme Addison. Not to create confusion between his website and that of the DGA, he will be asked to cancel his. All the VDTGA abbreviations on the certificate must be replaced with DGA.
2.11 Workshop – The next workshop with Hugh du Preez, 7 Sept 2013 canoe polo at the Likkewaan Canoe Club from 16:00-18:00.

- It is necessary to contact Bella Nkomede who is responsible for the Tourism Month Celebrations for Northwest. The assistant will find the contact number.
- DGA received an invitation to a workshop from N12 Treasure Route. The general feeling amongst the member is that the DGA receive no benefit from such workshops. One member may be willing to attend.
